When I arrived at my hotel I was told that no rooms were available because of a bureaucratic error. They however direct me to a student hostel a few blocks away. I was not pleased, but I have stayed in worse places. At first I thought that I would transfer the next day, but then I got to meet the other tenants in the television/internet/kitchen common room There were a few Japanese students there, and the first night I watched Akira along with them while surfing the net until 3:30. (Akira is an old Japanese anime film that was a great influence in movies like Kill Bill or the Matrix.)

In the end, I did not move and stayed in the student hostel for the rest of my trip. It was quiet, my roommates were cool and the location ( St. Joseph and St Laurant) not far from the Mont Royal, Christine or the metro. It was close to the metro except for Friday night when I mistakenly went the wrong way when I left the metro and walked a few extra kilometers at 02h00 trying to get back to my place.
