Tahiti is a small island, only about 130 km. It is so small and there are so few tourists on their own that gas stations and stores do not sell maps. If you are going there, get a map before your trip.

The roads are full of life. People selling fresh fish from truck, kids on bicycles, dogs and chickens.

There are many black sand beaches and surfers enjoying the waves. The island also has few waterfalls. Traditional style outrigger canoes are frequently seen.
