About the Photographer

My name is John Wieczorek, and I'm an amateur photographer. I've never taken any photo courses, won any prizes and had only one gallery showing years ago. My "day job" is designing artificial/machine vision systems,

I am visually oriented and enjoy images a lot. Usually I don't care too much for the actual taking of pictures (it's work), but the reward of the end product often overcomes the inertia of laziness. Whether or not, this is art, is of little concern to me. I just want to see beautiful things and have fun!…And I do. I tend to think of my photography more as my being an editor, rather than creator. Through photography I can share with you the things that I have enjoyed seeing.

As well as being visually oriented, I'm also very good with technology. In photography, these two facets intersect. My aesthetic side fix upon things that are beautiful or simply interesting, then my engineering skills take over to make sure that the camera is led to see things as I do.

Am I hoping to make money? Not really. From time to time I make a few bucks selling prints. Overall I've probably made 500$ or so. Maybe it's better that I don't do this for a living. Currently I enjoy complete artistic freedom. Would leave my existing job instantly to do this for a living. The situation is not that desperate. My "day job" machine vision still entertains and challenges me. And as you see from this page, sometimes I like playing the model too.
